यह त्यौहार भादों कृष्ण पक्ष की छठ को मनाया जाता है। इसी दिन श्री कृष्ण के बड़े भाई बलराम का जन्म हुआ था। यह व्रत पुत्रवती स्रियां ही करती हैं। इस में हल चली हुई जमीन का बोया-जोता अनाज व गाय का घी, दूध आदि खाना मना है। इस व्रत में पेड़ों के फल बिना बोया अनाज आदि खाने का विधान है।

Harchath vrata 2013 date is 16th April 2013 . Harchath Vrat is the day to celebrate the birthday of Lord Balarama, the elder brother of Lord Sri Krishna. It is observed on Krishna Paksha Chaturthi in Bhadrapad month. Who will observe Hal Sashti Vrat – How to perform Har Chhath Puja? Hal Shashti puja is observed mainly & especially by women. Women perform the vrata who has male child & for the better health of their children. Women observe fasting on the day and they even avoid taking fruits and milk. The performers of Lalahi Chhath puja clean and sanctify the floor. They keep a stem of straw grass, a type of reed and palaash together to make a plough. Then, they bury it and pray to the sacred well. During the Harchhath puja, the performers worship with Satavya. Satavya are the seven types of grams – wheat, jowar, lentil, paddy, moong (kidney beans), gram and corn. A cloth is also offered, kept near the plough and worshipped.
